Physiotherapist & Exercise Physiologist
Liz has worked in preventative health and rehabilitation since graduating with a Masters in Clinical Exercise Physiology in 2004.
Liz has worked extensively in Australia in gyms, with medical practices and in allied health clinics to provide exercise services focussed in improving the quality of life of patients with long term physical and mental health conditions. Liz has also worked overseas in the UK where she worked for GLL in a team of exercise specialists to develop the GP exercise referral program “healthwise”.
She trained in Pilates in 2008, graduated with a physiotherapy degree in 2011 and went on to study a Masters in Pain Management. And uses the breadth of skills gained in these areas of study in her clinical practice.
Liz is a dedicated exercise physiology educator and a strong advocate for improving communication in the health services to improve patient experiences and enhance patients capacity to move toward self management. For ten years Liz worked in a casual capacity for University of Queensland as a clinical tutor in the School of Human Movement and Nutrition Sciences while working full time as a clinician. She currently holds an Associate Lecturer appointment at University of New England where she is co-ordinator of their student placement program.
Liz loves a physical challenge and enjoys training others to meet their goals. She has completed the Three Peaks Challenge, Kokoda Track (PNG) and half marathons.
